Iranian competitors earned seven Medals for Excellence at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, including fourth-place finishes in mobile app development and cybersecurity.
Iranian competitors earned seven Medals for Excellence at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, including fourth-place finishes in mobile applications development and cybersecurity. The country sent 22 competitors across 20 skills.
The WorldSkills awards recognize performances that meet its standard of excellence but finish outside the gold, silver and bronze places. The competition concluded September 27 after four days of contests across 64 skills.

Mehran Rasolzadeh placed fourth in mobile applications development. Hasan Safari and Amirhossein Zibaei also placed fourth, competing together in cybersecurity. WorldSkills named the pair Iran’s Best of Nation.
The other Iranian recipients were:
- Mohammad Saleh Borhani Gilvaei, eighth in cloud computing;
- Mohammadamin Arab Aminabadi, 11th in IT network systems administration;
- Amirreza Beik Mohammadlou, joint 12th in graphic design technology;
- Taha Shameli, 15th in web technologies; and
- Sajad Safarighiasabad, joint 15th in mechanical engineering CAD.
The next WorldSkills Competition is scheduled for Aichi, Japan, in November 2028.
