Iran’s parliament speaker has issued the National AI Development Law, which requires the National Artificial Intelligence Organization to be established within three months of the law’s formal notification.
The law also provides for an AI fund with capital of 10 trillion tomans and the drafting of criminal and civil rules related to the technology. These provisions cover both the institutions and funding intended to support AI development and the legal framework surrounding its use.
The organization will have the authority to draft regulations on online activity and artificial intelligence specifically for children and adolescents, and submit them to the government for approval.
