Pindo CEO Sentenced to Lashings for Yalda Celebration
Pindo CEO sentenced to lashings, license revoked for Yalda event.
Nima Ashrafzadeh, CEO of Pindo, has been sentenced to 74 lashes for holding a Yalda celebration at the company's premises. The company's license has also been revoked.
Hamid Mohammadi, co-founder of Digikala, announced that the CEO of Pindo, a subsidiary of the Digikala group, has been sentenced to 74 lashes. The cancellation of Pindo's business license has also been issued.
Reasons for the Ruling
According to Mohammadi, the reason for these rulings is the 'mixed-gender ceremony' and 'unveiling' during last year's Yalda night celebration at Pindo's premises.
The co-founder of Digikala wrote about this ruling on the social network X (Twitter):
'In utter disbelief… a few weeks ago, digital economy activists were invited to official meetings with the President and then the heads of the three branches of government, where they heard promises of support for the development of this sector.
Today, however, the definitive ruling for Pindo and its CEO, a subsidiary of the Digikala group, has been issued: '74 lashes and the revocation of the company's license and business permit!'
This ruling pertains to last year's Yalda celebration at the company, which faced accusations of 'holding a mixed-gender ceremony' and 'unveiling'. This deep gap between 'words' and 'actions' is not just a judicial ruling; it is a discouraging message for all those who still think about the country's development and simultaneously a clear warning of the lack of coordination and serious determination to correct the development path.
