On Friday evening, December 19, Tehran’s Jomhouri Street hosted a new development in Iran’s technology ecosystem with the opening of the first joint retail store operated by Digikala and Mobile Communication Company of Iran (MCI, known as Hamrah-e Aval). The collaboration brings together two major players in Iran’s digital economy in a single physical location, combining retail sales of digital products with telecommunications services.

Digikala has become a leading online marketplace for digital goods in recent years, while MCI is the country’s largest and oldest mobile operator. Through this joint store, the two companies aim to bridge online and offline services. The new outlet offers smart gadgets and digital products, along with options for credit-based and installment purchases. At the same time, customers can access MCI’s telecommunications services, including SIM cards and digital service packages.

The store is located at the intersection of Jomhouri and Hafez streets, a site with symbolic significance for Digikala, as it is close to where the company’s founders first developed the initial idea for the platform years ago. The location has now been positioned as a technology-focused retail hub, offering more than standard sales functions.

According to the companies, the store is designed to allow visitors to physically examine products and receive guidance from on-site experts. This format reflects a broader move toward hybrid retail models that combine in-person experiences with digital commerce and services.
