The head of Tehran City Council stated that the municipality's supervision over online ridesharing services has not yet begun. He emphasized the need to organize the activities of drivers coming from other cities to work in Tehran. He described the current situation as problematic for both citizens and drivers.
Concerns Over Drivers From Other Cities
In an interview with reporters, Mehdi Chamran mentioned that the supervision guidelines for online ridesharing services must be implemented and followed up. He highlighted one of the issues in this sector. According to him, drivers from various towns come to Tehran, engage in transporting passengers, and spend their nights in different parts of the city.
The head of Tehran City Council called this situation inappropriate and said, "This condition causes problems for themselves, their families, and the city's residents. It needs to be addressed."
He further explained that previously, the supervision of online ridesharing services was handed over to the municipality. However, due to the lack of necessary information provided by trade unions to the municipality, issues arose.
