The Internet Business Association has issued a statement addressing mounting pressures on Iran’s startup ecosystem, urging government officials and policymakers to take immediate action.

The statement highlighted several concerning developments, including non-transparent measures against the Rasmiu platform and its managers, the disqualification of Hesam Armandehi, founder and chairman of Divar, from participating in the company’s stock market entry, new restrictions on the Karzar platform, and the filtering of googleadservices.com.

According to the association, these actions have significantly weakened the country’s already fragile startup environment. It warned that ongoing issues such as power outages, water shortages, and economic instability are putting online businesses at heightened risk of closures and service disruptions. The association cautioned that this series of setbacks could lead to widespread bankruptcies, job losses, skilled labor migration, and a departure of entrepreneurs from Iran’s digital economy.

The Internet Business Association condemned these measures and called on all governing bodies to reconsider their policies in light of the critical challenges facing the nation’s technology sector.
