Iran Allocates Over 21 Trillion Tomans to the National Information Network Next Year

Iran’s next-year budget allocates over 21 trillion tomans to the National Information Network.

The total budget allocated for communications, including the National Information Network, smart government, and the space industry, in the 1405 (2026 - 2027) fiscal year budget is estimated to exceed 32 trillion tomans.

Based on Table 6 of the national budget bill for 1405 (2026 - 2027), which outlines operational and capital asset acquisition expenses, the government’s total operational expenses for the National Information Network are estimated to exceed 3.247 trillion tomans.

The capital asset acquisition expenses, which cover the creation, development, or purchase of new assets and infrastructure for the National Information Network, are projected to be approximately 18.212 trillion tomans. In total, the budget for the National Information Network amounts to approximately 21.459 trillion tomans.

For the development of smart government, 894 billion tomans in operational expenses have been allocated to cover ongoing activities. Capital asset acquisition expenses for smart government are estimated at 3.744 trillion tomans. The total budget for smart government development is expected to surpass 4.638 trillion tomans.

Additionally, for the space industry, operational expenses are estimated at 1.092 trillion tomans, while capital asset acquisition expenses are projected to be 4.763 trillion tomans.
