President Orders Restriction of Unfiltered SIM Cards

The President announced during Student Day that he has ordered the disconnection of "White" (unfiltered ) SIM cards. White SIM cards refer to lines that have exclusive and unrestricted internet access. According to Masoud Pezeshkian, this action aims to help those who have used the internet without limitations to understand the public's situation.

The President highlighted the existing discrimination in internet access. He emphasized that to better understand the filtering issue, everyone should be placed on equal footing. Pezeshkian commented on this decision, stating, "We have now ordered those with white SIM cards to have them restricted too, so they understand what those with restricted access are experiencing."

Filtering: A Major National Issue

In another part of his speech, Pezeshkian described filtering as the worst problem the country is currently facing.

The President rejected the notion that issues in cyberspace can be resolved solely by orders. He stated, "If it could be solved by orders, we would have resolved it on the first day."
