The Deputy Minister of ICT announced on X that responsibility for licensing intercity passenger transportation platforms is now assigned to the Virtual Business Union.
Ehsan Chitsaz stated that the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development has two months to establish regulations for online intercity passenger transport platforms. These rules will set the standard for operations and ensure compliance within the sector.
Once the framework is finalized, the Virtual Business Union will take charge of evaluating qualifications and issuing operational licenses. This shift will directly impact companies such as Snapp and Tapsi operating in intercity transportation.
The decision was approved during the fourth session of the Business Facilitation Committee.
