Iran’s Digital Government Ecosystem Designed
Iran unveils a digital government ecosystem with implementation plans.
Iran's Minister of ICT announced, "The digital government ecosystem has been designed across 16 clusters, and a portion of it will enter the implementation phase by the end of this year."
According to the Ministry of ICT, Seyed Sattar Hashemi presented a report on the ministry's activities under the 14th administration and its efforts during the recent 12-day conflict.
Highlighting the mandates of the Seventh Development Plan in rural expansion, Hashemi stated, "Over the past year of the 14th administration, more than 2,000 villages with over 20 households have gained access to high-quality communications, and this progress is continuing at a pace."
He cited fiber-optic projects and the allocation of frequency bands for the fifth generation of mobile networks as key strategies for improving communication quality, adding, "Thanks to these initiatives, citizens will gradually experience enhanced communication quality in their daily lives by the end of this year."
Discussing the preparation and submission of the National Energy Imbalance and Fairness Program to the government, he said, "According to our estimates, by implementing smart solutions in this domain, we can achieve a 15 to 25 percent reduction in energy consumption."
The minister also highlighted the multi-fold progress in the "G-NAF" project during the same period under the 14th administration.
Supporting Content Production
Hashemi further announced the design of the digital government ecosystem, explaining, "This ecosystem has been structured across 16 domain-specific clusters and is being pursued under a new five-point directive from the president."
He expressed optimism that six of these clusters would be operational by the end of the year.
Another initiative of the Ministry of ICT during this administration has been the support of content production in this sector. Hashemi added, "With the measures taken and the support provided, we hope to witness the emergence of a content production movement by the end of the year."
Ministry of ICTs' Efforts During the 12-Day Conflict
In part of his report, Hashemi discussed the ministry's actions during the 12-day imposed war, emphasizing that maintaining network stability and ensuring family connectivity were priorities during this period. "This goal was successfully achieved through collaboration with telecommunications operators, ensuring stable communications," he said.
He referred to the enemy's attempts to exploit postal infrastructure, adding, "Thanks to the vigilance and dedication of postal service staff, these efforts were thwarted."
The minister also praised the ministry's collaboration with Iran Telecommunications Company during the conflict, explaining, "With their cooperation, traffic from critical centers was rerouted to telecommunications hubs, and this process continues uninterrupted."
Hashemi highlighted the ministry's cooperation with the Departments of Agriculture and Industry, Mining, and Trade in distributing essential goods in densely populated and tourist-heavy cities during the 12-day war as another key achievement in this period.
