Cyberattack from 125,000 Sources Neutralized by Iran’s Telecom Infrastructure
Iran’s Telecommunication Infrastructure Company says it repelled a massive DDoS attack reaching 720 million packets per second, one of the largest globally.
Behzad Akbari, CEO of the Telecommunication Infrastructure Company, announced that last night the infrastructure system, in collaboration with one of the country's operators, identified and neutralized a cyberattack with a volume of 720 million packets per second.
He wrote in a post on the social network X:
Last night, the infrastructure system identified and countered the largest DDoS attack in recent years in terms of packets per second aimed at one of the country's operators. This attack was over 720 million packets per second, with 502 pps handled by the infrastructure system itself and the rest countered outside the country. This attack, carried out from 125,000 distributed sources worldwide, was one of the 12 largest attacks globally in terms of packets per second.
