President Masoud Pezeshkian has officially announced the enactment of the 'Law on Organizing Remote-Controlled Civilian Aircraft (Drones).'

The legislation has been forwarded to relevant agencies for enforcement. These include the judiciary and the ministries of Interior, Intelligence, Justice, Roads and Urban Development, Industry, Mine and Trade, as well as the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.

Legislative Approval Timeline

The plan to regulate civilian drones was initially approved during an open parliamentary session on September 28. The Guardian Council gave its final confirmation on October 1, 2025, after reviewing the proposal.

Following this approval, the law was submitted to the government for official implementation. Authorities will now focus on ensuring compliance with the new regulations governing drone usage in Iran.
