Sattar Hashemi, the ICT Minister, has written to Mohammad Amin Aghamiri, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace. He requested a public report on white SIM cards. These cards provide unfiltered internet to a select group and promote a tiered internet.

In his letter, the ICT Minister emphasized the council's central role in major cyberspace policy-making. He referenced an explicit order from the President regarding 'white SIM cards.' This order arose from blocking policies in past years, which negatively impacted public opinion. The minister urged that the issue be urgently addressed and reported to the people of Iran.

Presidential Directive

The President announced at the Student Day ceremony that he had ordered white SIM cards to be blackened. Masoud Pezeshkian commented on this matter, stating, 'We have now ordered those whose SIM cards are white to blacken them so that they understand the plight of those who are blackened.'
