Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the critical role of major national projects such as 'Geocoding' and 'Linking Postal Codes to National IDs (G-NAF)' in intelligent and data-driven governance.
He stated that once these initiatives are fully implemented, all ministries and institutions will be required to use this information as the foundation for delivering any services to citizens.
According to Digito and the government's official information portal, a meeting was held under Pezeshkian's leadership to review the performance of the task force managing these two national projects.
During the meeting, the President highlighted the value of the extensive efforts, coordination, and time invested in these projects, which he believes offer significant benefits to the public and the nation. These advantages include improvements in areas such as security, healthcare, livelihoods, education, energy management, and reducing opportunities for corruption.
Pezeshkian suggested one key strategy for ensuring the efficient and swift implementation of these large-scale projects: breaking them down into smaller, local components at the provincial, county, and municipal levels.
"In the course of implementing this initiative, any collaboration with various agencies and the acquisition of their data will be carried out promptly, aided by the efforts of provincial offices, governorates, and municipalities. Any potential non-cooperation from relevant entities will face necessary actions."
The President reiterated the importance of these major national initiatives in advancing smart and data-driven governance. He stated that once these projects are completed, all ministries and institutions will be obliged to use this data as the basis for delivering services to citizens.
During the session, chaired by the President, seven resolutions were passed to facilitate the implementation of these two large-scale national projects.
