Dotin Company issued an official statement revealing details of a widespread cyberattack on the hardware infrastructure of two of Iran’s banks on June 17. The company firmly denied any breaches of its software systems and emphasized its supportive technical role in restoring banking operations.

Dotin described the cyberattack as unprecedented in both complexity and scale within the country. The attack was designed to disable all three data centers—the primary, backup, and disaster recovery—of the targeted banks within minutes. The main damage was inflicted on the data storage equipment, causing a complete stoppage of banking services.

Reiterating that its software systems suffered no damage or intrusion, Dotin explained that in response to the crisis, it deployed an emergency solution known as Mini Core (Samsont). This allowed a phased restoration of essential banking services, including card transactions, fund transfers, and national payment networks such as PAYA and SATNA.

Subsequently, Pasargad Bank, in cooperation with Dotin, reinstalled equipment and fully relaunched banking software within 11 days. The bank’s core banking systems were back online by June 26.

Dotin also rejected any involvement in a separate data leak incident at one bank earlier in 2025, clarifying that the vulnerability exploited was outside its software systems and was reportedly based on report misuse.

The company concluded by affirming its ongoing commitment to continuously upgrading software infrastructure and developing advanced Business Continuity Planning (BCP) solutions for crisis conditions. Dotin framed its recent crisis response as not just a technical obligation but a human and national responsibility.
