Amazon has projected that it will allocate over $108 billion in capital expenditures this year, with a significant portion directed toward investments in artificial intelligence (AI).
According to Digiato, following Amazon in this spending race are Microsoft at $88 billion, Alphabet (Google's parent company) at $85 billion, and Meta (the parent company of Instagram and WhatsApp) at $72 billion.
Remarkably, Amazon's investment in AI infrastructure alone surpasses the total market value of the Tehran Stock Exchange.
This stark contrast underscores the deepening technological divide. While an American company spends more annually on AI than the combined worth of all publicly traded companies in Iran, Iranian startups face financial hurdles even for modest funding rounds of a few million dollars.
