We launched Digiato’s English edition to present an accurate, coherent, and well-documented narrative of Iranian technology and startups.

For more than a decade, Digiato has been a narrator of Iran’s technology landscape and digital economy. Despite persistent limitations and sanctions, this ecosystem has remained alive, with innovation and talent continuing to flow through it. Time and again, it has demonstrated a capacity for growth far beyond what is visible on the surface.

Until now, however, Iran’s technology ecosystem has lacked a strong and consistent digital footprint in English. Many developments, trends, innovations, startups, and key figures have either gone unnoticed globally or have been portrayed solely through external perspectives.

In today’s world, no technology ecosystem grows in isolation. Innovation accelerates when ideas, experiences, capital, knowledge, and perspectives move freely across borders. For Iran, global engagement is not a privilege but a vital necessity. Isolation shrinks ecosystems, makes them risk-averse, and leads to repetition rather than progress. Engagement with the world means access to higher standards, smarter capital, research collaborations, broader markets, and a clearer understanding of possible development paths. If Iran’s technology sector is ever to experience rapid growth again, that growth will not be possible without reopening global channels of connection.

This is why we have launched Digiato’s English edition: to present a precise, coherent, and well-documented narrative of Iranian technology and startups. It is a story told from inside Iran and published in a global language.

Today, sanctions and exceptional circumstances have limited the ecosystem’s connections with the world. But we do not believe this situation is permanent.

The English edition of Digiato is an effort aimed at a future in which international connections are more open. It is an attempt to ensure that when the world looks to Iran again, credible, citable, and reliable information about this ecosystem is already available online.

Our goal is to create an English-language reference point for understanding what is happening in Iran’s technology and digital economy, for investors, researchers, international media, and anyone seeking a more accurate picture of Iran’s technology ecosystem.

This is a beginning. A beginning for documenting the story of Iran’s technology ecosystem in a language the world understands.
