The Iranian Minister of ICT emphasized the government's stance against tiered internet access, asserting that internet services should remain accessible to all citizens.

Government Commitment to Universal Internet Access

Sattar Hashemi, speaking during a parliamentary session addressing representatives' concerns, stated, "The internet must be provided fairly and made available to all." He highlighted the president's commitment to ensuring universal internet access for the population.

Hashemi also outlined plans aimed at improving public satisfaction and enhancing services. These initiatives include the development of 5G technology and expanding fiber optic infrastructure nationwide.

No Special Privileges for Internet Access

In response to inquiries about whether tiered internet access currently exists in Iran, Hashemi reaffirmed the government's position. He said, "The government does not believe in granting special privileges to certain groups for exclusive access."
