Registration for new campaigns on Karzar, an online platform for signature-gathering campaigns, has been suspended for three weeks.
Suspension of Campaign Registration
The last campaign on the platform was registered on July 15, according to a review by Digikato. Since then, no new campaigns have been created. The reasons for this suspension remain unclear.
It is uncertain whether the platform is experiencing technical issues or if restrictions have been imposed. On July 10, just days before the last campaigns were registered, Hamed Bidi, the CEO of Karzar, revealed that "campaigns calling for the impeachment of the president, which were supported by revolutionary/value-based users, were blocked last night by order of the Supreme National Security Council."
Background on Karzar
Despite the removal of the impeachment request campaign, new campaigns were registered for a few days afterward. However, activity has since ceased.
Karzar, a social startup launched in May 2017, is dedicated to promoting civic activism and fostering social synergy. Its sudden halt in operations has raised questions about the platform's future and the potential causes of the suspension.
