Iran’s Minister of Communications announced plans to revise internet restrictions and address declining service quality following recent conflicts.
Sattar Hashemi, speaking at a press briefing for Journalist Day, highlighted fiber-optic expansion, 5G coverage growth, and a comprehensive review of online limitations.
He warned that prolonged restrictions could lead to skilled worker migration, stagnation in online businesses, and rising public dissatisfaction.
Hashemi also revealed the rollout of the 'Digital Government Transformation Plan,' aimed at streamlining services with private sector collaboration.
Additionally, he discussed measures to tackle power outages affecting communication sites and emphasized the importance of technology diplomacy for global market integration. The minister urged journalists to hold the ministry accountable in its development efforts.
