Mohammadreza Aref, Iran's First Vice President, has urged swift action to launch services through the National Information Network (NIN). Speaking at a session dedicated to the network, he emphasized that even with the initiation of services, the development and oversight of NIN must continue.

Aref acknowledged the progress made in expanding the network but noted that further efforts are required to ensure its independence in delivering services. He stated, "Previously, certain segments of society viewed the National Information Network with skepticism. However, perceptions have improved somewhat, though it remains critical to demonstrate to all citizens that this network is essential for their security."

Highlighting the pivotal role of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in this initiative, Aref expressed optimism about achieving full implementation. Referring to lessons learned from a recent 12-day conflict, he stressed the urgency of advancing NIN and called for cooperation among stakeholders: "We must proceed with camaraderie, task-sharing, cohesion, and collaboration. The government fully supports completing this network."

The vice president also underscored the importance of bolstering cyber capabilities in the short term to match advancements in missile technology. He outlined a three-year strategic plan aimed at securing Iran's position as a regional leader in line with national development documents like Vision 2025.

During the meeting, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Sattar Hashemi provided an update on countering cyberattacks during the 12-day conflict and reiterated his commitment to accelerating NIN’s completion.
